Siraheem, son of billionaire Rasaq Okoya, announces exit from music
Afrobeats singer Raheem Okoya, popularly known as Siraheem, has announced that he is stepping away from the music industry.
The singer, who is the son of billionaire businessman Rasaq Okoya, shared the news in a statement posted on his official Instagram page. The announcement has drawn wide attention from fans and entertainment followers in Nigeria.
Why he is leaving music
Siraheem said his decision was about balance and commitment. According to him, music started as a hobby he enjoyed with his friends before it grew into a professional career.
He explained that over the past year, combining music with his other business commitments has become harder. He said he believes in giving his best to anything he does and he no longer feels he can give music the effort, patience and dedication it deserves.
In his open letter titled "Professional Exit From The Music Industry", he wrote that his musical journey has been magical, with memorable live shows and recognition from artistes he admired while growing up.
What comes next for fans
Siraheem thanked his fans, colleagues and everyone who supported his career and invested in his dream. He said he owes his fans and colleagues a proper professional exit, which is why he decided to stop putting out new music for now.
He made it clear that this is not the end of his creative journey. He plans to explore other creative and business fields. In recent weeks, he has started a warehouse construction project, marking a new phase in his business life.
For fans hoping for more music, he offered some hope. He said music remains therapeutic for him and that he has been working on what he believes is the best material of his career. He noted that with time, the unreleased album may still find its way to the public.
The announcement was reported by Punch and also covered by Pulse Nigeria.
