Best Hotels in Port Harcourt: A Practical Guide for Business Travellers and Families

Choosing among the hotels in Port Harcourt is mostly a question of geography and expectations. Port Harcourt is spread out, the airport is a long drive from the centre, and the prices on booking sites vary a lot between listings. This guide covers the best hotels in Port Harcourt across three budgets, with a plain-spoken drawback for each. I haven't stayed at any of them. The drawbacks come from guest scores, locations and the facilities each listing shows.

##How the prices were checked
Every price below comes from one of two comparison sites, and I've dated each. I also did the conversions of currencies with Gold Price Z – naira exchange rates as at 4 October 2026. Values were converted from pounds and dollars to their naira equivalence for local transactions.

HotelsCombined: average nightly rates in US dollars, with the site stating its price data was last updated on 4 October 2026.

KAYAK UK: "from" rates in pounds for a one-night stay on 10–11 October 2026, on a page generated on 3 October 2026.
I left out older figures, such as snapshots from July and August, because they fall outside the required 30-day window. These are indicative "from" prices, not quotes. Rooms, taxes and dates affect them, and weekday rates run well above weekend rates. Kayak's data puts the average weeknight price at about £82 (₦144,200) against about £48 (₦84,400) at weekends. Confirm the final rate, and whether breakfast is included, before you book.

##Budget: under roughly £45 (₦81,612) / $60 (₦79,847) a night

##Tiffany Hotel and Towers
Area: Airport side of town, near Omagwa. HotelsCombined puts it 14.3 miles from the city centre.
Best for: Early flights, late arrivals and one-night airport stopovers. Hotels.com places it about 3.5 km from the airport and lists an airport shuttle.
Price seen: $16 (₦21,300) average per night [HotelsCombined, 4 Oct 2026].
Drawback: It's too far out for a stay centred on the city or Trans-Amadi. You'd trade a short airport run for a long daily commute.

##Swiss International Mabisel
Area: Mabisel Avenue, off Peter Odili Road.
Best for: Cost-conscious business travellers who still want parking, Wi-Fi and a pool. Kayak lists all three, plus air conditioning.
Price seen: $45 (₦59,800) average per night [HotelsCombined, 4 Oct 2026]. From £39 (₦68,600) for 10–11 Oct [KAYAK, 3 Oct 2026].
Drawback: Guests rate it good rather than great, at 7.6 from 50 reviews on Kayak. Expect solid basics rather than polish services.

##Mid-range: roughly £45–£100 (₦81,612–181,361) / $60–$110 (₦79,847–₦110,386) a night.

##Golden Tulip Hotel GT31 (Rivotel)
Area: 31 Stadium Road.
Best for: Business travellers who want a recognisable brand without the flagship price. It's in the Stadium Road cluster, close to the city's main commercial streets.
Price seen: $74 (₦98,300) average per night [HotelsCombined, 4 Oct 2026]. From £67 for 10–11 Oct [KAYAK, 3 Oct 2026].
*Drawback”: HotelsCombined classifies it as a three-star, so facilities are more modest than the name suggests. Don't assume it matches the full Golden Tulip hotel on Evo Road.

##Heliconia Park Port Harcourt Hotel and Suites
Area: Eastern Bypass, Ogbunabali.
Best for: Families. Kayak lists a pool, parking and pet-friendly rooms, and guests score it 8.0 from 77 reviews.
Price seen: From £94 (₦165,300) for 10–11 Oct [KAYAK, 3 Oct 2026]. I found no HotelsCombined price for this exact property, so treat it as a single-source figure.
Drawback: Naming confusion. Kayak also shows a separate "Heliconia Park Hotel and Golf Resort" from £54 (₦97,934), so check which property you're booking. The two listings differ by about £40 (₦72,544).

##Crownsville Hotel – Airport Road
Area: Airport Road. Hotels.com places it about 6 km from the airport.
Best for: Travellers who must be at the airport early and want a better room than the cheapest options. It scores 8.8 from 30 reviews on Kayak, the highest in this guide, with pool, parking and free Wi-Fi.
Price seen: From £86 (₦151,300) for 10–11 Oct [KAYAK, 3 Oct 2026]. Single-source figure.
Drawback: Like Tiffany, it's remote from the city and from Trans-Amadi. The review count is also small, so one bad week can swing the score.

##Upper range – above roughly £100 (₦181,361) / $110 (₦152,700) a night.

##Novotel Port Harcourt
Area: 3 Stadium Road, Rumuomasi.
Best for: Travellers who value an international chain with a pool and parking. Kayak names it the most popular hotel in the city, and its 147 reviews give a sturdier sample than most.
Price seen: $115 (₦152,700) average per night [HotelsCombined, 4 Oct 2026]. From £90 (₦158,300) for 10–11 Oct [KAYAK, 3 Oct 2026].
Drawback: The guest score is a middling 6.1 on Kayak. At this price that's a reason to read recent reviews before committing.

##Golden Tulip Port Harcourt
Area: 1c Evo Road, about 3 miles from the centre per HotelsCombined.
Best for: A central, full-service base for business stays and meetings.
Price seen: $149 (₦197,900) average per night [HotelsCombined, 4 Oct 2026]. From £122 (₦214,600) for 10–11 Oct [KAYAK, 3 Oct 2026].
Drawback: It's the most expensive hotel here, yet Kayak shows a score of only 6.4, from just 18 reviews. Ask for a corporate or weekend rate.

The Presidential Hotel on Aba Road is the other name that comes up at this level – $134 (₦178,000) average on HotelsCombined (4 Oct 2026) and from £113 on Kayak (3 Oct 2026). Its Kayak score is 6.7 from 18 reviews.

##Which area suits the airport and Trans-Amadi?
The airport. Port Harcourt International Airport is at Omagwa which is located outside the city. One guide puts the distance at 25–35 km north of the centre and advises planning 40–90 minutes by road, more in heavy traffic or rain. That range is the main fact to plan around.
Shortest transfers: Choose Tiffany or Crownsville, both are about 6 km from the terminal.
Early flights: If you're leaving from the centre, spending a night near the airport is safer than relying on a morning drive.
A possible improvement: One guide says a new Airport–Ipo–Ikwerre Road bypass, commissioned in 2026, has eased congestion around the airport corridor. I found only that one source, so don't count on a shorter route.

Trans-Amadi. Trans-Amadi is an industrial and corporate district, so business travellers should think carefully about where they want to spend a night.
Staying in Trans-Amadi: Somitel Hotel and Resort, off Peter Odili Road in Trans-Amadi, offers a 24-hour business centre and meeting rooms. I didn't find a current dated price for it, so you can check it directly.
The cost of staying there: It's also around 55 minutes from the airport by road. A property in Trans-Amadi is a poor choice if you're flying in and out on the same day.

Staying nearby: Swiss International Mabisel sits off the same Peter Odili Road corridor. I couldn't verify its exact drive time to Trans-Amadi yards, so you might have to ask the hotel about the peak-hour travel.

Staying in the Stadium Road cluster: Novotel, Golden Tulip GT31 and similar hotels are central. As far as I know they are a manageable drive from Trans-Amadi, but I found no sourced journey time, so ask for a realistic morning estimate.

Overall, the Stadium Road and Evo Road hotels suit the widest range of trips. Stay in Trans-Amadi if your meetings are there, and near the airport only for short transits.

##Quick picks
Business, mid-budget: Golden Tulip GT31 or Swiss International Mabisel.
Business, higher budget: Novotel or Golden Tulip Port Harcourt. Read recent reviews first.
Families: Heliconia Park Port Harcourt Hotel and Suites for the pool and pet-friendly rooms.
Airport stopovers: Tiffany for the lowest price, or Crownsville for the highest guest score.

##Booking tips
Weekends and low-season months usually cost less. HotelsCombined's data names August as the cheapest month and March as the most expensive. Kayak's own data, by contrast, shows February cheapest and April priciest, so these seasonal patterns are loose guides at best. Check out for other services listed especially breakfast, parking and airport pickup, because these vary widely among different hotels within the city of Port Harcourt.
